Claire got her birthday off to a great start with breakfast in bed -- MY bed! How great is that? She got to enjoy her pancakes and hot cocoa while watching the Animal Planet, and any syrup left behind will get in my hair, not hers! ;0)
Since it's her birthday, Claire got to take the day off from school. Since I was taking kids to buy pointe shoes and metronomes, and making a whole litter of chocolate labs and chihuahuas, the other two kids ALSO got the day off from school! Claire spent the day creating cute fashions with her sister Elise, using her new Klutz paper fashions kit. Boy, are these a step up from the old FashionPlates!
We were supposed to go ice skating tomorrow for Claire's birthday, but it sounds like the whole city might be shutting down for Snowpocalypse 2K10. Our backup plan, should we actually get snow (I know, I know, we'll all believe it when we see it!), is to enjoy as many snowball fights as possible! Claire's been wanting it to snow all winter, so it's a fun birthday-wish-come-true for her!
Tonight at dinner we went around the table and took turns sharing some of the special things about Claire. Here's some of what was shared: She's nice, she's quick to forgive and slow to anger, she's fun to be around, she's always happy, she's always quick to lend a hand and ask how she can help, she's creative, and she's a joy to watch as she worships the Lord.
Claire, you are all these things and more! What a joy it is to have you in our family! Your tender, sweet heart is a blessing to your mommy! I LOVE YOU!!!! Happy birthday, my little Claire-Bear Boo-Ba-Loo!!!
